Every story has its own musical language.

As a composer for film, documentaries, podcasts and theatre, Daan Hofman is always searching for the musical world that belongs to a project. Each story asks for a different approach, and he enjoys building tailor-made scores that emerge from the material itself. A score might draw from chamber music, experimental textures, found instruments, pop production or indie folk—whatever serves the film best.

His work has been recognised with the Buma Music in Motion Best New Talent Award and an award at the CAIFF Scoring Competition in California. He has collaborated with a wide range of filmmakers, including Threes Anna, Zharadasht Achmed, Twan Huys, Juliette van Ardenne, Jet Kragt and Jorgen Scholtens.
